Barstow
Barstow is a worsted spun, fingering weight yarn made with Dorset wool grown in NY & spun in PA. Barstow is great for socks if you don't mind a gentle wash & air drying but it isn’t just for socks, it also makes gorgeous hard wearing garments. The 4 ply structure gives the yarn plenty of strength, especially when worked densely. The wool has not been superwashed which will allow lots of breathability, this yarn fulfills a dream of mine to make a classic all wool sock yarn. Barstow is named for Hudson River School painter & avid hiker Susie Barstow who I like to think would appreciate a sturdy wool sock yarn.
The set of 24 mini skeins includes 106yd/97m ~1oz skeins of the 24 colors pictured. Think of it like a box of crayons for colorwork, toes & heels, happy stripes or whatever strikes your fancy.
Fingering Weight
425yds/389m 4oz/113g
100% Dorset wool
worsted spun
Suggested gauge: 6-8sts/in on a US#1-3 (2.25-3.25mm)
